• One particular concept designed and built for a client required Tracking Vehicles and Modules using RFID Technologies.
• The concept turned the normal "static reader....moving tag" on its head. The readers were placed in moving vehicles and the tags were strategically placed around a spralling site, data was transmitted to a central data gatherer, from each reader, over 802.11 wireless technology.
•  By adopting this method, the overall cost of the installation was reduced, savings were found in hardware infrastructure, including ducting, fibre optic cabling, traditional cabling and general site operation disturbance.
  Other factors attributing to the benefit of static tags and moving readers are:
  • the additional real time data from the amount of tags in strategic places gives a more accurate site position for the vehicles
  • vehicle diagnostic data can also be sent back with tag data into the process using OPC over a wireless system, into a SCADA  based system.
